Durable skills patterns across researched roles
Across the 88 occupation pages, the durable half of work tends to cluster in a few repeatable categories. This page names those patterns; it does not invent percentages or “top skills” rankings.
Patterns we see in the published task lists
- Judgment under ambiguity — exception handling, prioritization, and deciding when an automated output is wrong enough to stop.
- Accountability & trust — licensed, fiduciary, clinical, or managerial responsibility that cannot be delegated to a model.
- Relationship & conflict work — negotiation, coaching, classroom presence, client trust repair.
- Physical / on-site craft — skilled trades and hands-on care where presence is the product.
Each role page lists the concrete tasks that fall on either side of that line for that occupation. Start from a role you care about, or from the low-exposure examples.
